Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) Mechanic – Região Geográfica Intermediária de Campo Grande – Amentum

Job Responsibilities:

1. Possesses considerable knowledge of machinery to diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair Aerospace Ground Equipment in the field or shop environment with little supervision.
2. Performs service, maintenance, repair, and overhaul in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations.
3. Interfaces with New York Air National Guard (NYANG) and US Air Force (USAF) personnel daily.
4. Provides flight line services as required.
5. Performs work as specified on work orders or initiates work orders when required.
6. Ensures work performed is in accordance with established procedures and/or manufacturer's specifications.
7. Routinely overhauls, repairs, or maintains gasoline and diesel-powered equipment.
8. Uses diagnostic equipment and procedures to diagnose and correct equipment faults.
9. Inspects lift equipment and determines safe operability prior to issue.
10. Operates shop equipment including load banks, welders, compressors, presses, and nitrogen charging units.
11. Performs generator set inspections and maintenance as required.
12. Provides serviceable equipment to NYANG or USAF as requested.
13. Services aircraft latrines and empties urinals.
14. Documents work performed, status of equipment, maintains records, and generates reports as required.
15. Recommends parts resupply to the AGE Mechanic Lead.
16. Sets an example of professional work ethic and behavior, providing direction and communication to ensure continuity of operations during and between shifts.
17. Lifts, moves, and/or installs parts, assemblies, or equipment up to the safety regulation maximum, performing work outside under severe weather conditions.
18. Works rotating shifts as required 24 hours/day.
19. Performs duties in support of Operations Division metrics.
20. Supports the achievement of ASC metrics, whether directly or indirectly affected by this position's work activities.
21. Works to achieve goals and contractual commitments.
22. Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe work area.
23. Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority.
24. Complies with all Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements.
25. Performs other duties as required.

Required Education, Experience, Certificates, and Licenses:

1. High School diploma or GED.
2. A minimum of four years of experience working with a combination of diesel and gasoline engines, electrical/electronic, and hydraulic systems.

Expected Skills and Competencies:

1. Complies with applicable safety, environment, health, and waste management policies and procedures.
2. Proficient using Microsoft Office Word; ability to accurately document changes to work orders and inventory on a computer-based system.

Preferred:

1. Two years technical school or similar military training is highly desirable.

Physical and/or Other Requirements:

1. Willingness and ability to deploy to Antarctica for extended periods.
2. Successful completion of Medical and Dental examinations required by the NSF for deployment to Antarctica.
3. Successful completion of drug screening and background check required by employer.
4. Successful completion of Federal Background Check required by the NSF.
5. Must be willing and able to lift and move items, parts, assemblies, and equipment up to the safety regulation maximum.
