Job Summary:
Staycity are looking for a Head of Web Engineering . You’ll take ownership of our full web stack—frontend, backend, and QA—working closely with Product and Design to build exceptional digital experiences. This role combines people leadership, technical direction, and hands-on guidance.
Role Overview
You will oversee both the frontend and backend, driving the development and optimization of our web platforms, which process €50M in annual sales. A mix of hands-on development and strategic leadership, you’ll define best practices, guide technical direction, and manage outsourced teams. Note:
Regular travel to HQ in Dublin (approximately monthly).

Key Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership:
Own the technical direction and architecture of web platforms. Ensure seamless integration with Oracle Opera, Stripe, and other key systems. - Cross-functional Collaboration:
Work with Product and Design to deliver timely, high-quality features. Balance technical debt with new development. - System Oversight:
Maintain systems such as CDN networks, Google Tag Manager, DNS, and performance monitoring tools.
Key Requirements
- Experience:
7+ years in web engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership role. Proven track record in managing teams and delivering complex web projects. - Skills:
Proficiency in modern Microsoft stack (C#, Azure, ReactJS), and experience with microservices and API integrations. Familiarity with Umbraco CMS, Stripe, Twilio, and Oracle Opera is a plus. - Languages/Frameworks:
ReactJS, .NET, Microsoft stack. - Infrastructure:
Azure Functions, CosmosDB, SQL databases, Cloudflare. - Ecommerce Experience:
Experience in international B2C ecommerce platforms (multi-currency, multi-lingual) is preferred.
