This is a visionary UK-based startup redefining the future of agriculture. The company develops modular robots for selective fruit and vegetable harvesting in unpredictable environments, combining robotics with proprietary software to deliver innovative, high-value solutions.
Location:
Hybrid - Cambridge and/or Lisbon Office and Remote (3 days/week)
Role Description
As the CFO, you will play a pivotal role in steering the company's financial direction. You will lead financial planning & analysis, cash flow management, and general management functions. You will also be involved in fundraising activities. This is an interim role with potential to transition into a full-time CFO position.
What You’ll Do:
Financial Strategy:
- Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with company goals, focusing on cash flow management and capital structure.
- Build high-impact KPIs to provide actionable insights for the CEO.
- Support fundraising efforts and manage the data room.
Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Prepare financial models for upcoming fundraises.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to guide decision-making.
Cashflow Management:
- Implement best practices and tools to optimize cash runway and deliver real-time insights.
Leadership and Reporting:
- Lead the finance team, ensuring timely, accurate reporting and fostering a culture of excellence.
HR and People:
- Oversee finance-related HR functions, including compensation and benefits.
Operations and Continuous Improvement:
- Strengthen finance operations by building out FP&A, KPI reporting, controls, tech solutions, and automation.
Experience and Skills Summary
- Ability to work independently, take ownership, and show urgency in changing situations.
- Proven senior finance leadership experience.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills from Big 4 Advisory or leading FP&A roles.
- 7+ years post-qualification experience, ideally in high-growth startups.
- Track record of building and simplifying finance processes under tight deadlines; finance transformation experience is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
